Codariocalyx motorius, also known as the "dancing plant" or "telegraph plant," is a flowering plant native to tropical Asia that moves its leaves in a rhythmic motion in response to stimuli like light, sound, or touch.
Codariocalyx Motorius 'Dancing Plant' is an erect shrub with trifoliate leaves and small pink flowers that grow in racemes. It has small leaflets move in a jerky, rhythmic motion, especially in bright light. This movement is not random and can be influenced by sound, light, and touch. Specialized cells at the base of the leaflets change their internal water content, causing the leaflets to move up and down in response to stimuli.
